I'm thinking about replacing the head unit for my 06 Envoy. Any suggestion on which brand and model would be a better fit?

Everyone will have a different opinion on this, as it is a bit of a personal preference as to which brand you use. I am partial to Kenwood products (although I have yet to put one in my truck, I have them in both of my other vehicles). There seemed to be a general consensus on one brand though, before the site was lost. I believe that it was Pioneer. Unfortunately, I don't recall the model. Perhaps another member can help you out with that. BTW, welcome to the forum!

I actually like the OEM navigation unit... call me old fashioned

Purchase your in-dash GPS system and set an appointment for installation
Test your in-dash GPS system after installation. Make sure all of the features work properly.
