Default Climate Control

Hi all, I hope someone can help. My wife's envoy has been having issues with the heater and air conditioner control. The outdoor temperature shows 20 to 50 degrees, and then the ice posible light comes on. This effects your ability to get the air conditioner to come on and only the heat comes on, even thought you have adjusted the temp "wheel" to your desired temp. The actual ambiant temperature is over 100. Is this an issue with the temp gauge sending unit, and if so is this easy or hard to fix. What else could it be. Your help is appreciated, it is hot here in Dallas.

It sounds as though the sensor for the mirror is malfunctioning. I beleive that it is located at the front of the truck in the engine bay. I don't have my Haynes manual handy, but if I can remember to check, I will let you know.

Default I used to have the same problem

Guys, my wife '02 was having the same problem. The temp. display might have been reading 20 degrees when actually it was 90+ outside. I located a similar post on this same site before the crash. The guy suggested I replace the temp. sensor which was located near the top front of the radiator on the drivers side. I picked up a replacement sensor from the local dealer ($17.00 maybe) installed it about 5 minutes and WAH-LA. A/C's and temp. display are both working correctly. Good luck
