Front Brake Upgrade?

Last year, I bought a new boat that I've been towing with my '06. Everything is working great except the brakes. On long downhill sections, I start getting a vibration in the pedal like the rotors are warped or glazed.

I took it into the dealer and his answer is "yeah, they do that." Nice.

So, I'm wondering if anyone out there has upgraded their front brakes and what their experience was. I've seen some upgraded/slotted rotors and brake kits out there but I'd love to get some first hand experience before I pay for an expensive mod to my truck.
